Anti inflammation diet

Just recently my sleep apnea disappeared, according to the sleep lab and the sleep doctor in Toronto I'd recently visited.

I know it sounds outrageously unbelievable, but hear me out just for a second.

My theory for this healing (unless my original diagnosis from another sleep lap 2 years before this was a huge misdiagnosis) is that my Chronic fatigue slash anti-inflammatory diet has reversed my sleep apnea.

I have read online stories from people who have cut out sugar, grain, and dairy from their diet about their improvement of many symptoms, including teeth grinding, snoring, Narcolepsy, ADHD, joint pains, and many other diseases and disorders, especially autoimmune diseases.

Also, inflammation is a frequent cause of insomnia

You see. Autoimmune diseases are often caused by chronic inflammation, stress, and leaky gut. Inflammation is a necessary function of the body as a response to injuries, but chronic inflammation can create a lot of health problems over the long run.

So how do you reduce inflammation through diet?

You do that by avoiding food that you maybe allergies or sensitive to. Don't worry if you don't know what it is. Most people who have food allergies are allergic to the same types of foods such as:

  • Dairy (corn fed, pasturised milk)
  • Grain, sprouted grains, pseudo-grains, beans, soy, peanuts, cashews, melons and squashes, grain/bean fed animals
  • Lectin heavy foods (many grains and seeds)
  • Nightshades
  • Sugar
  • Corn
  • Processed food
  • Cooking oil
  • Eggs
  • Gluten

After you have eliminated these foods from your diet for a period of time (about 4 weeks), you check to see if all or any of your symptoms start reducing, then slowly reintroduce each food back into your diet to see which one might be causing a problem.

You may attempt to repair your gut to see if you will eventually heal your food allergies or sensitivities. No guarantee, because odds protein such as gluten will always be rough on the gut lining for everyone, but it can happen if you are diligent.

Here is a list of foods you should have regularly to repair your gut from food allergies and therefore reverse a host of autoimmune and inflammatory based diseases

  • Bone Broth
  • Probiotic
  • Fermented foods
  • Gelatin supplement or gelatin heavy foods

Here is a testimony I found from nourishingdays.com

"Food allergies that I didn't know I had absolutely devastated my life. I was 25 yo and very sick. I had no energy for anything. I had had sinus infection every month, sores in my nose that won't heal, and already had arthritis pains (25 yo!), which was so bad that I couldn't even sleep. I had to take Aleve and allergy medicine everyday.

I had no idea what was wrong, but I did an elimination diet for a month. The first two weeks was rough. The last two weeks was heaven, comparing with the living hell before. All the symptoms had vanished and I felt like a kid again. I'd jump out of bed in the morning, with energy that lasts all day, and had no pain, no sneeze, no dizziness.

However, even if I ate just a tiny bit of gluten or sugar, all my problems would come back immediately. I started to work on healing my gut by taking strong probiotics, and avoiding all gluten and sugar.

It took 2 years but I finally reversed my food allergies. I can now eat anything without symptoms"

So what is anti inflammatory foods?

On top of the four aforementioned items (bone broth, probiotic, fermented foods, gelatin), here is what you can eat:

  • Protein (3 meals a day, including breakfast)
  • Vitamins
  • Cod liver oil, flaxseed oil, or olive oil
  • Grass fed meat (preferably)
  • Leafy green
  • Bak Choy
  • Salmon fish

This is just a basic list. If you don't want your elimination diet to be boring, get a cookbook.
